The use of technology in everything we do is at its most pinnacle and is ever growing. We use technology in all aspects of life from dropping our children to school to reading books! Some see this as a good thing, some as bad.
Our children spend countless hours, staring at screens, playing on mobile phones, iPads and computers. Whilst this can have a negative impact on them not only socially, but also physically and mentally, it is not the technology itself that is bad.
It also matters about the way in which we use technology. For example, sitting and staring at a computer screen all day can have an impact on eyesight and posture, causing back problems but at the same time, when you take precautions such as regular breaks walking around, doing stretches etc. computers can allow you to do an online, distance learning course giving you a degree at the end of it.
Online educational games encourage learning using technology and usually encompass skills such as reading, vocabulary, strategy skills, Maths, Science and English skills. They allow children to play a game and enjoy learning.
At Superior Minds, we offer our Kip McGrath English and Maths programmes through a mixture of computer based and paper activities. Lessons are broken up this way to keep our students stimulated and interested.
They also allow children to develop their skills through the use of a computer and allows them to familiarise themselves with technology.
